Harper Ray | New Albany, IN Newborn Session

Updated: Aug 30, 2020

When the West family moved to Indiana a few years ago, I could already tell we would love them. For one, they invited us to dinner at THEIR house (and it was GOOD) after we met! For another, they were transparent, kind, wise and also hilarious. Since that first dinner, they have quickly become part of our "extended" family - from Jennifer hosting book studies, to Chris being willing to help and advise with our (often weekly) home improvement issues, to shooting senior sessions, anniversary sessions, engagement sessions and a wedding. Jeremy even works at our church with Chris. Our lives have become pretty entwined and we couldn't be happier. We're so thankful that God brought the Wests to Indiana and to our church!

Haley and Brandon have been the subjects of many of my "West sessions" - engagement, wedding, baby announcement, maternity and now newborn portraits! Little Harper Ray had a dramatic entrance into the world with an incredibly high heart rate and spent the first week of her life in the NICU. Most parents would find this to be devastating at worst, and very inconvenient at best. Haley and Brandon shared recently how, as painful as it was to watch their little one be whisked away in an ambulance and spend time in a hospital crib, God used Harper's time in the NICU to increase their confidence as parents and allowed them to experience His grace in their trial. What a lovely response to a difficult time - we are thankful that everything seems normal now and Harper is home. They are already amazing parents and Harper Ray is so blessed to grow up as a West.

Haley and Brandon, we're so thankful to know you and your big West family. We love ya'll and can't wait to watch little Harper grow!
